The presentation/discussion was based on a project of the Research Institute for Women, Goa (RIW) entitled “Goan Out migration to the Middle East“. Out migration specially to the Middle East has been a major feature of Goan society and has impacted Goa and the Goans in more ways then one. This prompted the RIW to investigate the various aspects of this phenomenon. Hence the project is multidisciplinary (history, economics, sociology). The presentation and discussion was well received and the panellists received some suggestions and feedback from the audience.
