History Hour 80 – “Winter Vegetable Gardening” by Mr. Miguel Braganza held on Sunday, 8th December, 2013.

The Xavier Centre organised a workshop on “Winter Vegetable Gardening” at Xavier Centre from 4.00 P.M. to 6.00 P.M. Participants were taught about the basics of growing vegetables that grow well in the winter season.

Mr. Miguel Braganza is the Secretary of the Botanical Society of Goa, a horticultural consultant and also a former additional director of the Mapusa-based Organic Farming of Association of India. He has completed his M.Sc in horticulture from the University of Agricultural Science, Bangalore. He has organised various Exhibitions and workshops on agriculture. He was also the editor for various books such as “Addressing resource conversation issues in rice, wheat system of South Asia” and has also edited several books published by the Agricultural Officers Associations of Goa. He has facilitated the write shop of IDRC and ICEF to produce a resource book titled “Adding value to shifting cultivation in Nagaland, India” in 2006-2007.
